Serenity Now – Welcome to my Guest Bedroom

Gobble, Gobble! It is my favourite holiday of the year. We celebrate Thanksgiving, here in Canada this weekend and that means having guests come for a visit! That means we need to prep the Guest room for my in-laws!

A few years ago, we decided to give the guest room a makeover.  So hubby got busy painting the room, I got busy re-purposing decorations and moving around furniture pieces from other rooms and Voila! the perfect guest haven.  I get out my trusty Guest List and check off the Guest Spa Package (as I like to call it).
(1) Bedding:  clean sheets, guest bath, face toes and bathroom hand towels.  Cleaned and bed re-made.

Additional Reading Material

(2)  Re-stock all shampoo, conditioners, soap, toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap.  Ensure that there is hand/body lotion, q-tips, kleenex and additional soap.  I also have an extra supply of toothpaste, new toothbrushes and a brush on hand.

(3)  A quick rinse of the shower, toilet, sink and wet Swiffer on the floor and we are set in the bathroom.  New air freshener plugged in!
(4)  The bedroom needs a few magazines and a good book in the night table.  Re-set the clock radio (since our lights went out earlier this week).  Check that none of the lightbulbs are burnt out and the night-light is plugged in.

A comfy chair to sit, and ottomans to put your luggage

(5) We will keep a small heater in the closet in case it is too cool at night and extra pillows and blankets will rest on the shelf in the closet.

Lastly, a quick dusting of the furniture, a vacuuming of the room, a fluff of the pillows and we are ready for guests.

That took me longer to write about then to actually accomplish my 4M task. So are you ready for your guests this Thanksgiving? Get ready today so you can check that task off your list!
