Editorial Calendar and Writing Prompts for March 2015

Sharing is caring!

IMG_20150301_204916It is the first of March and time to consider a new Editorial Calendar and Writing Prompts for March 2015.  It is never easy being a blogger.  There are so many things that we want to write about, so many things that we think about blogging about and there are so many posts that we have started but haven’t published.  We write about travel, product reviews and let you know about great giveaways.  We write about our children, our pets, our parents, our world.  We work hard to write about things that will keep you interested and coming back.  We want to keep you engaged.  We all have times when we need some help to come up with creative ideas that are relevant and seasonal.  Sure it’s easy to make a list of your favourite St. Patrick’s day craft projects or put together a round up of recipes that include Guinness beer but sometimes you just want to write about what is important in the bigger world picture.

March includes the celebration of World Wildlife Day on March 3rd, International Women’s Day on March 8th, World Water Day on March 22 and Earth Hour on March 28th.  How do you want to contribute to the global conversation on this important dates? You can certainly take the time to visit each of the links and find a topic that will resonate with you.  Maybe you want to support the World Wildlife Foundations – write about that.   Find a craft or a project that you can do with your children to celebrate World Water Day or discuss the impact of the Miss Representation Project and write about why #askhermore trended on Twitter & Facebook at the Oscars for International Women’s Day.

Below you will find an Editorial Calendar for the month of March.  Be sure and come back as I update it through the month in case other interesting events happen that may be added to the calendar.  I have also included a writing prompt to help my fellow bloggers stay on top of their blogs.  If you don’t know what to write about, just help yourself to these ideas.

  1. This is a really great idea. Sometimes I need inspiration to write. I want to write, but don’t know what to write about lol. I will keep this in mind.

  2. What great idea. This editorial content calendar is a blessing! I have one I use however yours puts mine to shame. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Ahhhhh love how organized you are!!! I am a neat freak and all of my life is beyond clean, organized, planned listed…. Besides my blog! I try so hard to keep my blog organized like the rest of my life but ughhhh….. Too many things pop up and idk… I just need to get better with it!

  4. What a great list of blog prompts! Awe man, I missed World Wildlife Day…as an animal lover, I would have written a nice post on that. The March 31 prompt is interesting, it would be cool to see what a group of bloggers would come up with – all sharing their favorite childhood memories.

  5. Thanks for this! I’m sure a lot of bloggers who are struggling to think of what to write about will appreciate those prompts. My problem is that I have too many ideas! I have a notebook filled with articles I plan to someday write… there’s just not enough time! 🙂

  6. Hhmm maybe I should do something like this! It will help me plan ahead what to write for my blog. Also, it’s a good sounding board for all the ideas and thoughts in my head.

  7. I have done a few monthly prompts over the last few years, but it’s really time consuming, when I did no product reviews and just blogged for fun, it was a lot easier. But now that I run a blog & my business website, I need more time in my days. I need to get me a calendar, so I can keep track of everything though.

  8. What an amazing list! This will definitely come in handy for people needing inspiration! 🙂 I love the printable you created, too! What a great idea!

  9. So many cool things going on this month. Thanks for the calender! I never remember to check the national days, weeks, etc calender for inspiration. I appreciate you taking the time to do it for us and making a handy printable!
