The Canadian Home Schooler and DownshiftingPRO Organizing Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge?  A month long Organizing Challenge?

It is JANUARY and once again we begin another year.  We begin the year as most with New Year’s Resolutions or Words that define our year (mine is FOCUS, BTW).  We are rejuvenated and ready to GET ORGANIZED.  Sure enough during GO Month we want to set our life in order and turn over a new leaf.  We may start off with a bang but we often end with a whimper.

NO THIS MONTH.

NOT THIS WEEK.

NOT TODAY.

This time we are going to have a plan of action and you will get to do that with your 100+ BFFs. I am so excited to be partnering up with Lisa Marie from The Canadian Homeschooler.  She is a mother of four that decided she wanted to help others by creating a website that is chock full of resources for Canadians parents that want to homeschool their children.  Tired of explaining to her children that Canadians measure temperature in Celsius and not Fahrenheit or that we travel distances in  kilometers and not miles, she is constantly on the hunt for ways to help!

Homeschoolers have a lot of resources at hand and sometimes those resources can get a bit messy.  I was so pleased when Lisa Marie asked me to help motivate and educate her readers at the start of the new year.  For GO MONTH (Get Organized Month) we have partnered together and created a 20(ish) Day Challenge for Homeschool organization.

Starting today, join us on Facebook where she’ll be putting a daily task out for you to accomplish, piece by piece over the course of the month. Weekends are off – unless you want to finish up a task from the week or are so inspired that you just can’t stop!

Here’s the basic plan:

  • Week 1: Supplies
  • Week 2: Books
  • Week 3: Spaces
  • Week 4: Other stuff

Every day we will provided tips on how to get more organized.  We will motivate, inspire and maybe at time provide that friendly ‘push’ to start organizing your homeschool resources and the space surrounding it.

Care to join us?

This week, we are excited to offer you a chance to be rewarded for your hard work. One busy homeschooler in this challenge will win a $10 Starbucks Gift Card to treat themselves! I have donated this prize to give you a bit of an incentive to keep pushing forward.

How to enter:

All you have to do is complete at least ONE task during the week to be entered. Every additional task completed will be an additional entry.

On the Facebook event page, I will be posting a challenge daily. When you have finished that task, report back as a comment on that post – either with a picture or just a message of success. Then report back here to tell me that you’ve commented!

Please note: By submitting your Photo for the challenge, you give both The Canadian Homeschooler and DownshiftingPRO the right to use them in future resources such as blog posts, etc. All pictures will be anonymous unless you request photo credit.

You will need to head over to The Canadian Homeschooler website to register your entries.  We will be giving away prizes each week!  At the end of the 20(ish) Day Challenge we will be giving away The Idiot’s Guide – to Organizing Your Life by Cyndy Aldred courtesy of DK Books Canada.
