There has been a lot of planning and a lot of worrying about what is to happen in the next few days. We are *finally* going on our family vacation. Well, it is sort of a vacation for them but not really for me as I head off to attend the largest blogging conference in the world…(well in my world at least). With over 4,000 attendees BlogHer is focused on blogging, networking, and just a little bit of sparkle.
The best part of this holiday for us is we get to drive down to NYC in the lap of luxury. GM Canada has sponsored my transportation providing me with a gorgeous 2012 GMC Acadia Denali. This vehicle has all the bells and whistles that you could possibly want for a long-haul trip.
Let me give you a few highlights:
- 1. DVD player for the kids to enjoy (with wireless headphones)
- Adjustable seats with memory (so my hubby & I don’t have to keep moving it around for our ‘perfect’ setting)
- A camera that tells me where I am going when I am backing up and if I am coming close to an object (sweet for parking)
- Satellite radio (XMRADIO)– loving all the comedy stations and an ‘Elvis Presley’ station 24/7 (o.k. that one not so much)
- Super comfy and *air-conditioned* seats. We’ve had heated seats but never air-conditioned. Very cool!
- Bose sound system – it is so good it is almost dangerous
- Adjustable third seat options – you can put either both seats down or just one
- Ergonomically correct leather seating – those seats just hug your body
- Side mirrors that fold in at the push of a button
- Lovely, lovely, pick-up that have you driving 0-60 before you know it…also a bit dangerous (in a good – thrilling – way).
As we begin our trip, I will be blogging a bit more about what we encounter on our adventure. If you want to follow me on twitter (DownshiftingPRO #GMFamilyFun), I will be tweeting about the car, our adventures and some good old fashion #GMFamilyFun.
This post is part of a series that I am writing for GM Canada. I have been sponsored by them with the use of a vehicle for the road trip. The car is theirs…the opinions are all my own (and those of my family). {Fine print: All the pictures in this post are from the GM.ca Canada website and belong to them…they have full credit.}
