I was recently in Toronto at Yorkdale Mall for an event hosted by RBC to promote the #AvionVIP Lounge and I was able to revisit one of my favorite stores that can only be found here. TED BAKER is a British clothier that has some wonderful fashion for women but where there strength is for me is menswear. I find that the men’s line is new, fresh and full of great, stylish clothes. Last year when I was here I focused on that line, this year I was blown away by the women’s line.

HOT pink paten leather bags an accessories. These bags all had bows with gold accents a throw back to Katherine Hepburn – Breakfast at Tiffany’s style. These bags came in various textures and patterns but the ones that drew my attention the most were the hot pink ones. Everything you ever wanted to carry… there is a Ted Baker bag for that.
When I was at the #AvionVIP event they had a stylist (Julio Reyes) there to guide us by assembling vignettes from different Yorkdale retailers. One of my favourites was a full head-to-toe bronze sequins evening outfit that he promised me I could convert into a lady’s-lunch-date outfit. I’m not exactly sure I would wear this to lunch but I would wear it for sure it is just spectacular. No one is ever to young or to old to wear sequins. Don’t you just love sequins?
LOOK AT THIS DRESS… Just look at it. ITS GORGEOUS. I love this emerald green satin cocktail dress from the moment I entered the store. What the picture does not do it justice is the way that the sleeve is like a wing. It bellows beside you when you wear it and the hem just swings when you twirl (I am not above twirling in a pretty dress and either should your). Unique, classy and fun. Perfect for a cocktail dress.
It is pink and it has a peplum bottom. Need I say more. It loves so warm and comfortable but it has a wonderful style to it. I also love the rhinestone collar. What fashionista doesn’t need a little bling? What do you think?
This black and pink jacquard was on a women’s blazer. I love how this would look with a pair of black slacks or skinny jeans. Just makes your business attire look more professional and unique.
This to me screams classic Coco Channel. I had a jacket like this for our engagement party 22 years ago. It was read with black piping and I still have it because it was a classic. I bought it at Ports International years ago. This Ted Baker blazer has the pocket kerchief to make it a bit more modern. There is no way you would be wearing this blazer for years to come. C.L.A.S.S.I.C.
To add to the classic look is the ‘sweater-girl’ pink sweater with the rhinestone embellishments. The simplicity of the sweater just makes the accessory stand out more. I just love how you could mix and match all of the piece. Nothing was too showy (o.k. maybe the hot pink paten leather purse were over the top but that is all… really). Many of these piece are investment pieces that you would wear season after season. But then, why would you when there are so many lovely things to buy.
