GO_DPRO buttonToday is the first day of GO month on DownshiftingPRO.  One of the bigger goals that I have for myself this year is to grow my blog following.  As a blogger, I need to have a solid readership that will keep coming back for more with interesting content.  Whether that content involves family stories, organizing tips or product reviews and giveaways, it is great to start off the year with a clear benchmark.  We need that sort of measurement so we can see how our business grows.  Whether you are a small business or a blogger, you know the importance of keeping track of your audience.  Today’s tiny task is to write down all the numbers for your social media platforms.

Editorial Calendar

Another good way to increase your readership is to maintain an editorial calendar.  This tool helps you keep track of the important dates in the calendar.  Whether it is Valentines, St. Patrick’s or Mother’s Day simply knowing what is on the horizon is a great way to plan ahead.  I have set a goal for myself to provide a few new things every month.  One is an printable editorial calendar.

  1. You have excellent goals! Best of luck to you. My goal is to try & be very active myself. I really love the idea of Editorial calender & it would definitely help me. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I started a foodie editorial calendar last year. It listed all of the national food days. It was so hard to keep up with though along with my other recipes. I need to try again though because now that I have a lot of recipes on the site, there is something sure to go with most of the holidays.

  3. Best of luck with all of your goals! I use an editorial calendar through CoSchedule and it helps a lot having everything visualized.

  4. I like the idea of taking small steps and building on it to achieve greater goals. Best wishes for a successful 2015.

  5. This sounds so cool! I really need to get my blogging organised and now you just motivated me to do so. I really want to increase my twitter following. Good luck and keep us updated with your progress.

  6. This is wonderful advice. I do need to be organized so a editorial calender would be perfect for me as well. The pad of paper is totally not working out.

  7. I checked to see if I was following on those two accounts. I am on Instagram. I wasn’t on YouTube, but I am now. Happy New Year to you!

  8. I love this! I need to use one of these calendars. I’m trying to up my numbers this year as well. I’d really like to get my Instagram numbers up as well as Pinterest. Good luck with your goals!

  9. Great reminders! I have worked hard on getting crystal clear on several goals, but hadn’t taken the time to write down where I am now. What a huge thing! Thanks for that reminder, I’ll be doing that today!

  10. I started keeping an editorial calendar last year because I just couldn’t keep track of everything. It was the best thing I ever did 🙂

  11. Best of luck with your goals. I think it’s quite easy to gain new followers on Instagram, YouTube I’m not so sure though.

  12. Hello! I’ve been reading your website for some time now and finally got the bravery to go ahead and give you a shout out from Austin Tx!
Just wanted to say keep up the excellent job!

  13. Best of luck with your goal! Mine is to build up my savings again & start a separate savings account for a Disney trip with my family.
