I am in love with churches. Not just because they are sacred spaces but because they contain so much history, art and holy relics. Many are architectural masterpieces. Walking into Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal will take your breath away. It is the most beautiful example of Gothic Revival with the colour schemed modelled against the Ste. Chappelle in Paris. This is a true work of art.

The same can be said for St. Patricks or Mary Queen of the World. Both iconic pillars within the Catholic community. I often visited when I lived in Montreal. They were tourist destinations as much as a house of worship. Do not mistake that observation as a sign of disrespect because thousands (millions) of people have come to see these amazing buildings.
When you consider that a place of worship was also a place where the community, gathers, you will see the value of visiting a holy shrine. There are five holy shrines in Quebec: St. Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal, Our Lady of the Cape Shrine, Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica-Cathedral, Ermitage Saint-Antoine de Lac-Bouchette and the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.
Follow in the footsteps of the pilgrims who have been coming to this site, in Québec, for over 350 years to pay homage to Saint Anne. Step inside and admire the glorious stained glass, paintings, mosaics, and stone and wooden sculptures that adorn the basilica.
