The things you find on Twitter… The thing is, people often ask me why I am so hooked on social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Digg etc. Well, an easy answer is because they are pretty cool.
The business answer is it lets me communicate with my customers.
The personal answer is I get to stay in touch with family and friends.
The Professional Organizer answer is I get to discover products, services or blogs that help you get organized.
There are millions of resources and I just can’t do it all by myself so when I receive tweets from other organizers that provide nuggets of gold, it is simply, to good to keep to myself.
So I found myself wide awake at 3:00 am and I started to look through the day’s tweets. I come across one by @HelenCrozier. She tweeted about an ‘action management system’ (that is business talk for a “To Do” list).
Interested, I decided to check out the link to TeuxDeux.com. What did I find? A very witty product name TeuxDeux (phonetically TO DO ~my kid’s French teachers would be mortified at the spelling and the pronunciation of both words but what can you deux…I mean do?) I viewed the video (hilarious BTW) and signed up. See video Part one here and Part two here.
This online to do list is straight forward, easy to use and gets the paper off your desk. You have a list of days, you add items to the list on that day, you move them around if you need to or you delete them. That’s it! Plain and simple.

You just keep the list open on your desktop and off your desk. The drawbacks are twofold: (1) They have an iPhone app but not a Blackberry app: guess what I bought last month? (2) It cannot be sync’ed to your calendar so it is just online. If you don’t have a laptop attached to you wherever you go, you will have troubles just pulling the ‘To Do’ list out of your purse or pocket like a paper list!
It was easy to sign up, get started and then blog or twitter about it. Their tag line is: “A simple, designy, free, browser based ‘to do’ app.” All true! Check it out and leave a comment on my blog telling me what you think at www.downshiftingPOS.blogspot.com . Got to go delete ‘Write a blog post off my list’.

I like the look of TeuxDeux – but I agree – I’d rather have a printable list (as long as I recycle the page after the list is completed LOL) or at least have it downloadble to my Palm or iPod.
The show was very interesting, by the way!
