I am not a fan of Halloween. My husband has always loved this particular holiday but for me, it has never seemed that much fun. Maybe it is because I don’t like being scared and I don’t like scary movies or shows (Stranger Things has been chore for me to watch) but I do like to decorate my house seasonally. Last year, I did not managed to get any of my Halloween decorations up but this year, I actually got them up Thanksgiving weekend.
I decided to do a bit of sorting and purging. I wanted to get rid of things I don’t use or have a need for any longer (like goody bags for school treats) and extra decorations that I had not yet used. It happily went to a home with twin 5 year old girls! I wanted to share with you what I had put up this year. I hope you enjoy it!

This wreath is on our front door and I added the scarecrow once Thanksgiving was over.
I love these hanging ornaments that are about 3 or 4 “ in diameter so they are substantial
I bought the Halloween Tree and the Ornaments at Pier One, the pumpkin and wire basket are from Winners
My mother made the table cloth and skirt with a Halloween treat bag decorating the lamp.
This table is in the corner of my foyer and I love that you can place the mail right there for daily pick-up.
Last year, I had hung the oranments that are now hanging from my foyer chandelier from this light.
This year, I decided to keep it simple with a few ornaments on the counter and “wicked” stickers right on the mirror.
The door to my office also has the decals in each of the panes. As you enter the kitchen from the hall, you will see my
favourite Witch’s Hat. I have it hanging on a 3M Contact hook. You can easily remove it once the season is done.
This whole mantel decorating project all began when I saw this mantel shawl a few years ago. I had to have it and didn’t even wait for it to go on sale to get it. I fell in love with all
This mantel is in the family room and I feel that it needed a bit more light so I have placed a string of
orange lights through the mantel. It made it more fun then just having a spot light shine on it.
You can see that I have layered the mantel with all sorts of items. There are sock puppets that fit so well in with the Halloween theme. There are items that I found at Michael’s
(the bottle of poison and the orange bowl). I also bought the goblets, the picture frame and the squishy monsters from the Dollarstore.

This Candelabra is one of my favourite pieces in my house. I have used it in every season. If I had black candles it would look even better.
I wanted to incorporate other elements from the family room into the vignette. Used this urn that I love in shiny black gloss. In addition, I added a black and white
boa with a large orange orb.
