It could not have been any easier. Flying Porter Airlines from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) to Burlington, VT (BTV) last winter was a breeze. This 75 minute flight has you on the slopes in a jiffy. Once you land in Burlington, pick up your rental car and hit the road, you can be at Bolton Ski Resort in 30 minutes! But why stop there? You can visit Stowe, Killington/Pico and Stratton. No need to neglect the southern tip of Vermont because you can reach Brattleboro in less than two and a half hours from Burlington.

Vermont is a small state and easily accessible from Toronto (or Ottawa or Windsor). You can fly from those cities into Toronto and then hop and skip to Burlington, Vermont with Porter Airlines. You can have a quick Vermont Getaway with the peace and tranquility of quaint New England charm along with the best of modern life. Visitors can enjoy world-class accommodation, award-winning restaurants and unique boutiques for shopping. There is also an amazing winter Beerfest in Killington that you don want to miss.
The flights to Burlington, VT will begin January 8th, 2019 and finish at the end of March. Bookings have not yet opened up for the season but check back at the beginning of November for the prized Family Day weekend on the slopes!
No question about it even though these are seasonal flights, you will want to take in the winter adventures, the region has to offer: world-class skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, spas and a variety of other winter activities.
Don’t have a skier in the group, there is plenty to do in Burlington or any of the resorts. I had a wonderful day walking around Burlington with a stop off at the famous Check back for Porter Escapes vacation packages for simple trip planning.
I know in past years, quite a few of the ski hills and resorts offered ski passes at par! No question about, it made skiing much more affordable. You are an hour away from world-class skiing.
I’m not going to lie, skiing on a ‘real’ mountain and not a glorified hill was a thrill. My road trip took me to Mount Snow, Stratton and Killington/Pico for a whirlwind of ski lessons. After not being on a hill for over 30 years, it was great to get back on skis. I loved the après-ski as much as I loved the slopes. I had forgotten what a wonderful family vacation it cam be when you ski all day and relax at night.
There is no reason not to consider the convenience of flying Porter Airlines from the Billy Bishop Airport (just minutes from Union Station in downtown Toronto).
