RBC Avion Holiday Boutique at Yorkdale and Square One Centre in Toronto–#AvionVIP treatment

Making Shopping fun: The RBC Avion Holiday Boutique

From November 22 to December 31st, you will have the opportunity to visit the RBC Avion VIP Lounge found in four locations across Canada: Vancouver’s Coquitlam Centre, Halifax Shopping Center (Dec.1-24 only), in the Greater Toronto area at Yorkdale and the newest location in Square One in Mississauga.  I was invited along with some other Ontario bloggers to experience the Avion VIP Lounge and to get a sneak peak of what was in-store for RBC Avion Cardholders.

I was delighted to see that the best part of the experience was available again.  I was here last year and enjoyed myself greatly.  I live about two hours away from Yorkdale so having a place to relax is so appealing to me.  It is so nice to take advantage of the Valet Parking (Yorkdale is a huge mall), being able to drop my coat off and have my packages wrapped.

At this particular event, we were treated to some lovely hors d’oeuvres, wine and cheese and an exclusive look of some of the great holiday gift ideas that you can purchase at a variety of Canada’s premiere retailers, some of which are exclusive to Yorkdale.  Below you can see some different vignettes of great gifts for her, for the kids, for him and for the glamorous you!  These special vignettes were put together by Iva and Julio (a fashion blogger and a stylist that sit on the Yorkdale Style Council) for our blogger event.

It gave us a better idea of the unique seasonal gifts to be found at retailers like: Vince Camuto, Kiehl’s, Indigo, Jimmy Choo, Ted Baker, Bvlgari and the quintessential Kate Spade.Don’t forget your wee ones. You can also find great gifts for your them at  The LEGO Store, Pottery Barn Kid and EB Games.

This is what your RBC Avion shopping experience will look like if you shop in either Yorkdale or Mississauga’s Square One Centre:

You Drive up to the #AvionVIP valet.  Hand over your keys and you are on your way.  Located right beside Anthropolgie and Holt Renfrew, you are set to start your shopping trip in style. 

Walk over to the RBC Avion Holiday Boutique located across from Pottery Barn and drop off your coat. 

Off you go to make your purchases and enjoy retailers like Swarovski, Channel, Tiffany’s or Tory Birch.  Come back a bit later and store your parcels or better yet, have them wrapped for free if you are an Avion cardholder (or for a small fee that will be donated to charity if you are not).  Make sure to give yourself some time because there will be a lot of people of head of you taking advantage of this great benefit if you are a RBC Avion cardholder.  There is a large variety of paper to choose from.  You can chose the paper you want or let them do that for you.

I have to admit, last year, the coveted gifts under my tree were the ones that had the most beautiful wrapping paper and ribbons.  All the gift wrappers do a very  nice job and were so helpful when I asked for suggestions on where to pick up special items.

While you are waiting for your parcels, make sure and take advantage of the Cafe lounge.  You can have a cappuccino, tea or hot chocolate with all the fix in’s.  They also had fruit available for healthy treats. Maybe a cool glass of lemon water is what you need, well then, just ask your barista for a beverage to rejuvenate you.

Don’t forget that the RBC Avion Holiday Boutique also has big, comfy club chairs that you can relax in.  There are magazines to peruse, books for the kids and if you need to re-charge your phone or maybe you just want to check your emails, you can do that too with the free WIFI.  Take the time to replenish your energy.  It is worth being an Avion card member for this alone.  The Boutique is a place to just relax for a few minutes or for a longer while (husbands may find this their favourite place to be in the mall).

Lastly, they have something new at the Boutique: the RBC Rewards display.  The display features some of the most popular items from the RBC Rewards catalogue.  Visitors to the Boutique can make someone’s holiday extra special by nominating them to win one of the items from the display in the “No-so-secret Santa” Twitter Contest.  To do this, take a photo of the  item, tag the nominee on Twitter and use the #AvionVIP hashtag + the item’s own hashtag.  After December 31, those who qualify will be entered into a random draw to win the product for their recipients.  Each winner will also receive a $100 RBC VISA Gift Card for themselves (or you can share it with the person that nominated you ).  You can see below a tweet I sent out to give you a better idea of how to do this.
