I have to say I love that my family is always ready, willing and able to take on a challenge. I recently received a last minute opportunity to review a makeup remover. Last month, I went on a bit of a makeup buying spree and never thought to purchase all the appropriate potions and lotions that go with that responsibility. Maybe because I don’t wear makeup too often, I neglected to consider that my new makeup regime needs a new makeup remover.

Enter Garnier Clean Plus Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser. IT IS SMOOTH. And creamy and did the job. It is easy to apply and remove. We tend to use those round, flat cotton pads to get the best results. It is easy to apply the lotion on your skin then wipe it off. If you can see below, this is what the lotion took off after a few minutes. It is pretty amazing what was left on those cotton pads! But what was left on our skin was even better – a soft moisturizing lotion!
I wear the standard makeup line of cosmetics: concealer, foundation, blush, eyeliner, eye shadow and lipstick. Simple. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezie – simple. Because I tend to use foundation more than my daughter, I thought that for me it was more important to get that off my face as soon as possible. I don’t tend to be one to sleep with my makeup on (o.k. that might be a tiny white lie – it does happen on occasion) but in my defense, I didn’t have the right cleanser and makeup remover on hand. I like that Garnier Clean+ removes makeup and calms sensitive skin. It has no alcohol to dry my already very dry skin. Best of all, It also has no dyes or fragrances to irritate my eyes. Garnier Clean Plus has also been approved by the Canadian Dermatology Association. Something that I appreciate.
In our dual review, we found that there was one – definitely a challenge for this cleanser for sensitive skin: mascara. I have to admit, the one thing I don’t wear a lot is – mascara. I have never liked how it feels on my eyelashes and once it flakes off. And it always flakes off. I have tried waterproof mascara and I just find that I can never get it off for days on end.
So frankly, I just avoid it. I don’t get how both of my daughters just love to wear mascara. Like I said, I avoid it. Why is this an important point in this review? Because mascara was the line in the sand that we drew over this review. I enjoyed using this product but because I don’t wear mascara very often, the effectiveness of Garnier Clean+ was not an issue. My daughter however had another viewpoint. I’m really glad that she wanted to giver her honest opinion on the product that we were asked to review. I let her tell you her thoughts in her own words n her vlog post.

The beauty (pun-intended) about doing a dual review is that sometimes you find something that might work for you but not for someone else. Overall we both like the cleanser but when it came down to it, it was not enough to remove my daughter’s mascara and eye makeup. That’s o.k. we can’t all have agree and I’m glad she wanted to you her opinion. What I would suggest is that you try it for yourself and let me know what you think.

Thanks so much for the review, will look for it when I go out
Looks like some good stuff. Garnier tends to make great products. Thanks for the review.
This will be perfect for my daughter! She does dance competition and it’s so hard to remove waterproof makeup! Going to pick up some tonight
I love that this is a mother/daughter review! Most makeup removers leave my face feeling uncomfortably dry. I like that this is a lotion.
It’s interesting to know that cleaning the face with water and soap is not enough to remove the buildup of makeup. Using Garnier makeup remover will help a lot.
Just like you, I seldom wear make up. Lip gloss is just my everyday thing. To be honest, I don’t even know how to put make up on right lol. Your daughter did a great video review of the product. really well-done!
Love this review! I was just looking to buy this the other day. After the review now it’s a must!
Look how much dirt and makeup comes off. Love it!
I hate the residue that can be left behind by makeup!! This sounds like an amazing product!
Great review. I love the way Garnier leaves my skin & the smell of their products. I like using those cotton pads too. Have you tried Garnier’ Clean + Blackhead Eliminating Scrub Gel, love the warming sensation when scrubbing it.
There is nothing that feels better than the feeling of washing your face. Especially when wearing makeup all day long.
I love my mascara. I do hate removing it. Great find!
Thanks for this! I just ran out of makeup remover and was about to go buy more. Might give this a try.
Your daughter is an awesome model! I love Garnier the brand and these look like it worked well i must check them out!
Thank you for sharing this. When I decide to get make-up again I will totally remember this.
I didn’t realize Garnier made a make-up remover! I’ve used their other products in the past and know how good they are, so I definitely need to check this out after your review.
Great review! I’ll have to check out this product. Also love the mother/daughter post! Cool that you guys did this together.
I have always enjoyed using Garnier products. They do what they say. Always left me being satisfied.
I don’t wear makeup, but my skin is super sensitive, so if the day comes when I need makeup, I know which remover to use. This sounds great.
That’s a great review! I need a makeup remover and I’m impressed with how much make-up this has removed! I also like the fact that this creamy and smooth.
I first must say that I always love lotion makeup remover, rather than oil-based remover. It always seems to do the trick. I LOVE your daughter’s honest video review. She is really great in front of the camera. I love the honesty, especially when she mentions how the cleanser is not good for mascara. It is really hard to find a cleanser that will remove waterproof mascara. I would, however, still give this cleanser a try because I love that it leaves your face feelings soft afterward rather than oily or dry. Great review! Thanks for sharing!
