I have a secret project and you can’t tell anyone about it… I am trying hard to pick some colours for #MyBenjaminMooreHome. We are doing a room makeover with Benjamin Moore paint and I love having a variety of colour fans or colour decks at my disposal to help me make my choices. Once I have it narrowed down, I can get a small can of paint (sample pot) and create large swatches to review the different choices on the wall.

I learned this trick from the people at my local Benjamin Moore. Clancy’s Rainbow has been my got to Benjamin Moore store for almost 15 years. They helped me pick colours for my first home, here in London, Ontario with just a swatch of material and an in depth discussion about colours that I liked.

When we moved into our current home, I had Catherine, the colour specialist, come by the house and give me expert advice on how to pick complimentary and contrasting colours. I had a clear vision that I wanted to be able to walk from one room to another and see different complimentary colours blending together to create a colour story.
I didn’t want anything jagged and out of place but I did want colour in every room. You will not see a white wall in any rooms except the basement (which we have never painted). I love the life that colour gives a room.

It is been ten years since that first consultation and I have decided to make a few changes so I have consulted my very own colour fans (yes, you know you are obsessed with Benjamin Moore paint when you have your own colour fans). Once again, I headed to Clancy’s Rainbow to get my favourite paint!
You can find My Benjamin Moore Home Pinterest board and follow the progress in the next few months… STAY TUNED!

Through the years we have made some pretty bold colour choices but we have never regretted any of them. We have a variety of projects that you can see on the blog. There is my daughter’s teen dream makeover and then the more sophisticated young adult version.
You can certainly check out the room makeover with Benjamin Moore in my office. From a broody teak to a effervescent Forget me Not. It is a three part series which you can start here and deciding between spray paint or regular paint. With a post on how to coordinate wall colour with an alternative to wallpaper. There was the kid’s bathroom and the living room and dinning room.

Room Makeover with Benjamin Moore
You can find the newest Benjamin Moore colour fan at your local store and also look for the Colour Stories brochure to tell you all about the latest trends…

This is my living room and it is painted in Templeton Gray. It is a blue gray and looks fabulous with my deep grey velvet sofa. It anchors it well, don’t you think?

Below is our dining room which remains the only room in this house that has not been painted. I’m not sure why but it remains a mint green. It is a thorn in my side and there is no question it needs a room makeover with Benjamin Moore paint.

Benjamin Moore paint is the best paint in the industry by far!! Ralph Lauren is right up there with it but Benjamin Moore has the best color choices. We are about to paint our whole entire house with Benjamin Moore!! I can’t wait!!
The french violet is beautiful! It’s almost like a dark blue color. Love it!
Oh it’s so much fun picking out colors for a makeover! And so hard to choose too! I love the first scheme.

Gorgeous French violet shade my dear! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I love these complementary colours. They are stunning and rich and frankly never anything I would ever combine together on my own. I simply don’t have an eye that way. That’s why I need you my dear!! Can’t wait to see how these jobs turn out!!
great choices, everything looks really nice
Love the French Violet! It’s fun giving a room a fresh look with a new colour, but I always find it so overwhelming to choose from all the great colours! I love the colours in the bottom two fans in your photos. I find them very pleasing to the eye. Good luck with all your painting over the next few months!
