Did you know that the more sipes in a tire the better the traction? What is a sipe? Well that’s the lines, perforations and edges on the tire face. These are thing that I learned when PTPA invited me to be a Parent Tester at the Sailun Tire event in June. I will be publishing a full product review this weekend but I wanted to let you know about some of the things that I have learned.

If you watch this video you will see that I describe what the what I learned about performance tires and why winter tires have sipes. You can learn more about my experience as I test drove the Sailun Tires. I have to admit, I must be a closet car driver because I could not get enough of the driving. I learned how to handle corners better, when to break and when to accelerate and what makes the car tire squeal (not a good thing).

Sailun Tires are new on the Canadian market (only have been here for the last 5 years) but they are made a niche for themselves. They are not a cheap tire but they are firmly placed in the middle of the pack in price. For me, the tires did not perform so differently from the much higher prices Continental tires.
Sailun Tires is holding a fantastic contest where you can win your very own set of Sailun Tires or a chance to win three $100 Petro Canada gas cards… Just in time for family vacation time! The contest runs from June 12 to July 12th, 2013. This contest is open to Canadians only.
Make sure to leave a comment on my blog to enter and to follow Sailun Tire on Twitter and Facebook. Share the contest with your friends too.
Sailun Tires is a Parent Tested Parent Approved product. It has earned the PTPA seal of approval. For more information about PTPA please visit their website.

I need new winter tires so I would choose the Ice Blazer.
I would love to have the winter tires! The Ice Blazer’s!

Stacey: thanks for dropping by and taking the time to leave a comment. Please make sure to read the full review here: https://www.downshiftingpro.com/2013/07/safety-warranty-and-value-priced-sailun.html
I’d love to try the winter tires (Ice Blazer WST1 ), we just had to replace our all seasons but don’t have winter tires 😀
Sailun Tires has a big selection of winter tires. You can see the full review of our experience with the tires here: https://www.downshiftingpro.com/2013/07/safety-warranty-and-value-priced-sailun.html
I’d probably go for the Atrezzo The Touring LS. I’ve only had my car for a year and bought winter tires for it then so it’s summer tires I need now.
Have no fear. Sailun also has other tires available not just the Winter ones.
WSL2, I think this one fits our car and great for this winter. 😀
We get lots of snow here in Michigan so it was interesting to read. Our tires traction is so bad during the winter.
We could really use these in PA! Maybe i’d be less scared to drive in the snow 🙂
Like I said above, it has taken me years to convince my husband to buy winter tires because they do make a difference.
Great giveway! I just bought new winters, but my all seasons are due for an upgrade.
I tell you it has taken me years to convince my husband to buy winter tires instead of all seasons. Did you find a difference with the winter tires this year?
Thanks for the information I’m in Florida so no snow or ice here thankfully.
Although I am talking about winter tires, they also have all season tires. No need to worry that Sailun Tires are only winter tires!
That’s very interesting…we don’t really have a need for winter tires in GA, but good to know should I ever need them (Granted, I like as much traction as I can get!)
Krystn: They also have all-season tires. They have a huge variety from performance to industrial grade tires.
I would love the terramax CVR!
Darci… I’ll say it again. You have to check out this review by Tammy at inRDream. Amazing! http://inrdream.com/time-for-new-snow-tires-sailuntires-video-review-ptpawinner/
Had a great Twitter Chat with Zeev Orzakovski @PTPAZeev and decided I need the
Ice Blazer WST2 LT for my truck in the hills of the OKanagan in BC in winter!
I was wondering if you have seen the tire review written by Tammy @inRdream? Here is the post if you haven’t read it. It is amazing to watch the videos! http://inrdream.com/time-for-new-snow-tires-sailuntires-video-review-ptpawinner/
Thanks for sharing Margarita! Really and truly the best pair of Winter tires we have ever used!
