It was time to go from a little girls’ bedroom to a fun, teen hangout. While our daughter was away on for March Break at Volleyball camp, I put into motion a plan I’d had for a while – a surprise room makeover for her birthday! I working with our favourite paint to create the perfect Benjamin Moore makeover new look for Hannah’s bedroom.

Benjamin Moore Makeover
The jumping off point of this project was her bedding. It’s a moder version of a flora patter with strong colours. We decided to work them into the overall scheme pulling all three: hot pink, pale green and vibrant orange.

Three of the four walls are a lovely shade of green. It is Pale Sea Mist – Benjamin Moore 2147-50. Strong enough to make a statement but soft enough not to be over powering. Don’t be dissuade by the bad photograph or the Benjamin Moore paint dab, it is a beautiful pale green.

The opposite wall is Peony – Benjamin Moore 2079-30 It is THAT HOT PINK you’ve always been looking for.

The headboard is Vapour – Benjamin Moore AF35 This is from the Affinity Colour Collection and is closer to Cloud White then to a pale pink that you see on my Pinterest Board.

Our dog had not problems making herself at home. The dog is Labradoodle Black – Benjamin Moore 2120-10 is Jet Black (that is the real name of the paint colour closest to her coat…tee hee hee).

She is the Fashionista in this Family and likes to keep on trend. Her reaction to the room makeover with Benjamin Moore paints was priceless. It was worth the running around and finding the accessories that she needed to complete the colour change.

Her new solid wood desk and leather chair were finds at Costco and HomeSense. I wish I had bought two of those desks I love the look of them so much. I was also able to score a lamp with the same hot pink shade. How luck was that?
Lastly, we moved a decorative hanging lamp in to create a bit more mood . At IKEA we found the grey mesh chair that is modern and inexpensive, the large mirror (which is indispensable for a fashion diva) and the boxes to contain the clutter. You can have a better look at the organizing tools we used to keep her room neat.

We also decided to make a dramatic change to the children’s bathroom going from Georgian Bay blue to a soft yellow – Weston Flax. You can see more in this follow up post about the bathroom makeover.

I’m not adventurous enough to mix colours like this, but it really is beautiful, and so is your darling dog.
This is GORGEOUS! I’m in love with the green!
These colours are so pretty together. I love this and can’t wait to see it in person. The dog is labradoodle black made me laugh my butt off.

LOL I love how you reference the dog to a BM paint colour! Love the colours in the room – they look great together. Your dog is adorable, btw. I’m partial to the “poodle” in her 🙂
