On Wednesday October 6th, the local chapter of the Professional Organizers in Canada held a Professional Development Day and Sara DePooter, Marketing Coordinator, Avery Dennison Office Products Canada helped us make it very successful and a really fun day by providing Avery products – for free 🙂 Gotta love that!
Providing us with sample products for our attendees, each POC member received a ‘goody’ binder with the following items: White EcoFriendly File Folder Labels, a Removable Label Pad (2″ x 4″), Tabbed Business Cared Pages, NoteTabs, Permanent Durable ID Labels, Diamond Clear Heavyweight Sheet Protectors all in-cased in a Durable View Binder!
I cannot say enough about the items that she sent to us because they would all be items that we would use with our organizing clients or personally. I just wanted to review a few of the goodies.
My eldest daughter keeps us very focused on ANYTHING that is eco-friendly so when she saw the file folder labels and the fact that all the packaging as well as the labels were made from 100% recycled materials and were recyclable, well, she we were SOLD!
I loved the Durable binder as I used it to hold my ‘before and after’ pictures when I do organizing presentations. It stands up easily and people can just flip through the photos. Sliding each pictures in the HEAVY duty page protectors guarantees that my photos will not get damaged. Gotta love it!
I also use the large neon coloured 2″x4″ labels that peel off easily but are easy to identify. This makes it easy to colour co-ordinate bankers boxes so you can visually keep track of your items (green for financial files, blue for personnel files, pink for client files – you see where I am going with this…). You can use them for identifying boxes, file folders, well, just about anything. The only drawback is that they don’t stick very well to plastic bins 🙁 but I have solved that problem by placing masking tape on the bin then placing the removable label on top.
If you don’t have issues with labels sticking permanently, you can certainly use the Permanent Durable ID Labels. I just like to be able to replace the labels when I need a different use for the bids…remember: recycle, reuse, re-purpose! Yes, another organizing ‘obsessive labeling dilemma’ averted!
