I have a deep, deep love of museums, and I love to bring my audience to them. There are thousands of museums to visit in the world and sometimes you just need a bit of help with what to see. Whether it is a temporary exhibit or a video gallery of the museum, you should not miss these museums #ontheblog.

Museums also come in different variations. They can be outdoor exhibits, such as the Botero statues in Medellin, Colombia or the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia or France. Although the works of art are outdoors, some are paid and some are free for you to walk through (as is the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden in the New Orleans Museum of Art).
As a benefit of the recent world pandemic, museums found online ways to reach their audiences with both YouTub videos, TikTok or Instagram accounts as well as Google Arts and Culture. Through this website, you can access virtual tours of many of the museums to visit in the world. I encourage you to take a look before you visit any museum. Often, they will cover prize possessions or curated exhibits. It lets you see what you should see with a bit of history to each piece.

Some of these suggestions of museums to visit in the world are videos, Instagram posts or full blog post reviews. The appreciation of art is subjective. What you may consider art, I may consider trash but that does not mean it is not art. Must-see museums have dedicated their existence to letting people access art, history and culture. It can help explain politics, current affairs or geography so local museums are just as important as the top 5 museums in the world!
A great museum of the world is interactive and lets you touch, experience or sit with the piece. Many modern art museums have exhibits that let children touch and play in order to make them more accessible to young minds. Don’t be afraid to to ask if this can be done. Some famous museums in the world cordon off or put priceless pieces of art behind glass to preserve them but don’t forget to look closely at the brushstrokes, the colours or the composition as they too tell stories.
