I wrote this post a few years ago and I wanted to re-post it as my FAVOURITE Laundry Sorter is BACK at Costco! So go now and pick yours up. It is has grey bags now but everything else is the same.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about reviewing neatfreak! Heavy Duty Laundry Sorter. First of all I have to back up and give you the load down on how I came to this point. I was speaking at my Annual National POC Conference in November 2010 and was visiting the vendor expo when I came across the neatfreak! display.
They had the coolest display with sorters, bins. All the type of things professional organizers like.
I am happily admiring all the hanging sorting bids when I spot my FAVOURITE product: a heavy duty three bag laundry sorter. Oh, I love that it has black bags, that you can sort darks, lights and sweaters (I wear a lot of sweaters…others would use it for colours or delicates, I use it for sweaters). It is on wheels and each bag is compact. They have handles so you can grab and go. Only take the laundry that you are going to do. It is made out of stainless steel and it sooooooo pretty.
So, I ask the neatfreak! rep. if I can get one to review and blog about and possibly give away one to one of my readers. [We will see if I can still negotiate that but I will keep you posted.] I tell her I constantly recommend this product to clients when they can find it in stock at Costco. I did mention this was one of my big beefs. I would appreciate having this available all year around not just at certain times of the year. She informs me that that’ s Costco’s choice not theirs. So…work on that will you Costco?
I finally get the package and I decided I need some help to put it together so I enlist the help of my [then] 9 year old son. He is pretty addicted to video games and building elaborate train sets but he was willing to humour his mother on this project. Little did I know how much he would enjoy this…
I asked for his assistance because I wanted you to see how easy it was to assemble. Here are all the pieces laid out. Nicely wrapped and well labeled. We carefully laid out all the pieces, looked at the pictorial instructions and started. We screwed the posts into the frame. [Tip to NeatFreak! Can you not glue the black spacer to the post? Having to manipulate the screw, the spacer and keep the posts aligned was a bit fiddly. ] Lastly, we added the wheels. Very nice touch – good that they have brakes on them.

Otherwise, you can see how easy it was to put together the system. All you really needed was a screwdriver. However, my son thought it would be good to have a level, a measuring tape and a hammer… not needed but good to have… just in case.
In a few minutes we assembled this beautiful laundry sorter that sits ‘blissfully’ in the master bathroom. Seriously, isn’t it gorgeous?
I love the wheels. So much easier to move around when you are cleaning the bathroom floor. I saw on the website that they have an model with an ironing board on top – that would be perfect for my sister. She loves to iron in her bedroom. [Don’t ask, she’s been doing it for years].
My over all impression of this product is that it will certainly pass the test of time in my house. The attention to detail, like having the baskets pitch forward, makes it easier so clothes don’t fall behind the sorter. Having rubberized handles reduces the noise created when the bags move around – NICE. Make sure to get this amazing product from neatfreak! because it is one of my favourite organizing things.
If you are reading this blog neatfreak! I would [STILL] really love to give one of these away to my blog readers, Twitter followers or Facebook friends. Do you think you can make that happen? Tweet me @DownshiftingPRO or post a comment on my blog to let me know!

We have one of these and love it!!! Best thing we bought for the laundry room!
Omg, I love this! I am looking for something exactly like this for my wide closet in the bathroom. Thought I found one at walmart on the weekend, but hubby assured me it wouldn’t fit. I wonder if I could squeeze one of these in?
I do not have one. My sorting system right now is really elaborate. As in we dump laundry in floor and sort into piles. I clearly am very organized. I can’t believe how many of the commenters here have one of these. Thinking I may need one.
We have two of these in our laundry room and they are the best purchase I have ever, ever made!!
Great review!! This would go well in my bathroom and I have three daughters – one section for each of them! Can this be ordered from the neatfreak website? Can it be purchased at places other than Costco? (I don’t have a costco nearby).
Looks very nice. I like that it is stylish, and would fit into any room decor.
Looks cool! The lady I cleaned house for in my teen years had a laundry sorter like this, and I always told myself that someday when I had a laundry room, I’d have a laundry sorter too. Hasn’t happened yet, but at least now I know where to find the laundry sorter when I do get a laundry room! 🙂
oh… get one you won’t regret it!
That would be awesome. We are only a family of three but one lil laundry basket isn’t cutting it. I also love that it’s on wheels.
Honestly, I recommend it to all my organizing clients. I should get a commission!
We have one of these and CANNOT live without it! We use it for whites, colours and darks. The kids can sort their own laundry and when it’s full enough I just carry the bag downstairs to the machine! Love it!!
The one questions I do have, is can you buy bag replacements?
I don’t know if you can buy replacement bags. I guess you’d have to ask neatfreak! I am sure they can ship you some.
Love this. We had one similar before we built our laundry room in our new house and now we have built in sorting cupboards….love them!
You know what I wanted was a Laundry shute. I had a friend when I was really little and I thought this was THE BEST idea every. I wonder if I could do that in my current house…uhmmmm
Looks lovely! I might need one of these…especially love that it’s on wheels!

I have to admit, I find it easy to clean the bathroom floor because, I just roll it out of the bathroom. Easy Peasy!
