Canadian Blogs to Follow
Once someone knows I am a blogger, one of the first questions I get is do you know a good blog about [travel], [humour], [parenting] and of course [organizing]. There are thousands of blogs. You can find a topic about anything that you want. Want help to find about health posts with special needs teen? You may want to peruse Thrifty Momma’s Tips. Paula writes on a wide variety of topics. Or maybe you’re interested in a road trip to Prince Edward County in Ontario. No better blogger than Sandi Allen from Canadian Blog House to help you find the perfect spot. I’m a bit bias towards these three ladies as I recently travel with them to Florida but they are fine examples of what bloggers bring to the table. All are from three different Ontario cities, different ages and interests. The thing is, they have unique perspectives on life, family and travel.
As the year comes to a close, I have met new bloggers this year and I’ve started reading their blogs religiously. I also have included favourites that I have read for years. Always interesting, often funny, you can never go wrong dropping by and reading their blogs. Be sure and follow them on their social profiles to see what is new #ontheblog (I have included direct links to the blogs to make it easier). If you want, feel free to subscribe. You can also find more bloggers on my very popular Canadian Blogs to Follow on Pinterest. Constantly updated with interesting content be sure and drop by and pin your favourite posts.

Ottawa Road Trips
I recently met Laura Byrne Paquet on a Press Trip to Florida. Thirty travel bloggers and journalists and 48 hours of fun can be a bit overwhelming. Laura seemed to take it all in stride. She blogs about short getaways from Canada’s capital at Ottawa Road Trips.com and about the wider world at Facing The Street. Laura has written about destinations around the world for more than 80 publications and websites, including National Geographic Traveler, Islands, DreamScapes, The Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine and ELLE Canada. Canadian Blog House
I met Sandy years ago in a bloggers group and have gotten to know her more over the years. This year we took our friendship to another level by traveling to Florida together for a girls getaway. Always sunny and happy, she is an amazing Canadian Travel blogger because she sees a lot of Ontario. Read her blog, you will never be disappointed. Sandy’s motto is “life is meant to be experienced”. You can find Sandy embracing life, grabbing on to all the experiences she can, and taking her readers along for the ride over at Canadian Blog House – a lifestyle, travel, and experience blog. Sandy was named by CISION as one of “Seven Canada 150 Projects and Influencers You Should Follow On Twitter” in 2017 and as one of the “Top 25 Canadian Social Media Influencers” by IZEA in 2017. Sandy is a regular contributor to the Ottawa Tourism website, and occasionally writes for both the Outaouais Tourism Blog, and Life In Pleasantville.

A little Bit of Momsense
Becky is another new blogger to me, even though we’ve been in a group together for a while, I finally met her in person on the Press Trip to Florida (I tell you with 35 of us there were plenty of new people to meet). I find Becky refreshing and full of energy. A young mom of two she has been blogging for almost 10 years already! She writes about recipes, family activities and family travel (whoo hoo) with the occasional random thoughts about parenting and living life to the fullest. She also works with small business owners creating digital content. She’s a busy woman!

In R Dream
I met Tammy at a blogger conference years ago. I’m not 100% sure when we became friends but I know it was solidified when I spent some time at Pioneer Camp in the Muskokas with her and her Prince of a husband and those wonderful kids. Most recently we traveled to Melbourne Florida together on a press trip (there’s that trip again). We had a lovely time chatting and catching up. I love her blog because she talks about her great kids and a solid (and very full) family life. I hope to travel with her again. We sort of circle around each other’s world and we need to hang out more! When Tammy and her family aren’t dividing between extracurricular activities, renovating their country dream home, you’ll find them discovering mindful moments together. Chasing their next outdoor adventure and planning their next vacation to explore and discover. Tammy wears kindness and positive thinking on her shoulders with an entrepreneur mind and strives to reach for the stars. Health, fitness, nature, family and lots of snuggles are an essential start of every day.

Parenting to Go
You will never be bored following Yashy Murphy’s instagram stories. I watch them daily and see her tackle urban life in Toronto. She freely shares stories from virtual school to quarantine in Nova Scotia to fun finds in the SIX. Another Quebec Maritime blogger this year, I will be following her trip with Solmaz to Iles de la Madeline this summer (fingers crossed).
Yashy’s appeal is she has a mixed cultural background and shares food and recipes from Sri Lanka and other ‘exotic’ places. Born in Sri Lanka raised in Dubai, Bahrain, Pakistan, U.S, Australia and England, she has settled in Canada but a wandering soul is she. You can read more about her travels with her young family on Parenting to Go but don’t miss her Instagram @yashyanthi.

Merry about Town
I just adore Merry. She is an American living in Calgary but right now she is on an epic road trip with her son in their little Shasta Airflyte Reissue camper Daisy. The fact that she named her camper is reason enough to follow this gal. It is non-stop entertainment following her journey from the purchase of this awesome retro camper to the road trip banter. While not hauling the camper around, she writes about a variety of topics (recipes, home schooling, reviews) and she’s a great cook to-boot.

Sass and Smalls
Deb Balino is the proud mama of a little girl who she refers to as “Smallie” – a 6-year old who marches to the beat of her own drum when it comes to style. Deb loves sharing creative ideas and her obsession with themes from kid’s parties to family Halloween ideas. She is a recent import from Los Angeles where she and her husband George began her business but now lives in the beautiful west coast of Canada. She is the owner of Sass & Smalls – a blog about the everyday musings of a work-at-home mama, bringing the big city sass to the island – living minimally, stylishly, and creatively, while navigating through the beautiful chaos of parenting. Deb also shares her experience openly with infertility, still birth, and recurrent loss, and hopes that her posts will provide a safe place for families of loss and will inadvertently help end the stigma associated to this topic.

Thank you, so much for including me!!! XO Love you!
I so enjoy reading different blogs, especially Canadian ones.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Great post. There are many here that I love as well. Merry and Kerrie and Aeryn and Sandy are some of my favourites. Merry I just adore for her deep family travel experiences, love of charities and her anxiety and Brest reduction posts. Kerrie has great family travel and amazing recipes. So does Merry. Love this group of people! Sandy is the authority on Canadian content. Aeryn is a super roommate and also a really great geek style writer. Plus they both take amazing photos! Great group. There are a couple I need to explore further here for sure. Thanks again!
What a great list of bloggers there are here in Canada.
Aw thanks for including me! I’m so glad I met you and it’s great to hear and learn more about fellow Canadian bloggers. We have to support our own! 🙂
