I recently returned to this lovely city and was happy to see it is just as charming as when I first visited in 2018. I was able to return to a few favourites and discover new restaurants. From experience, don’t miss the clothesline bacon or fresh sushi at Morrissey’s or fresh oysters and delectable steaks at The Wishing Well. Below are my favourite places to eat in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Best Places to Eat in Saratoga Springs for Breakfast
Morrissey’s Lounge & Bistro inside The Adelphi Hotel
📍Location: 365 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

Whether you are staying at this Michelin Key hotel or walking-in, the service is amazing at Morrissey’s. With a variety of breakfast dishes, consider the French Toast (or get a side order, like I did). Otherwise, treat yourself, consider Steak & Eggs at Morrissey’s in The Adelphi Hotel.
What to order: Steak and Eggs with a side of French Toast. Honestly, the French toasts were delicious!
Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Bagels
📍Location: 402 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (@uncommongrounds)
When you arrive at the Albany Airport, you will find one of the satellite locations of one of the best coffee shops in Saratoga Springs – Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Bagels. On the way home, I stopped for a delicious coffee and bagel to go before flying back to Canada. If you are on Broadway, you can drop in (or sit outside and people- watch). With a relaxed feel and great service, Uncommon Grounds is well-known for its fresh roasted coffees, espresso drinks, teas, and Italian sodas. Serving fresh-baked bagels and bagel sandwiches, as well as a variety of gourmet desserts.
What to order: Lox of Love bagel
Country Corner Cafe
📍Location: 25 Church Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

Friendly, great breakfast with wonderful service. Located just one block off Broadway, Country Corner Cafe has been a beloved Saratoga staple since 1991, known for serving the area’s largest selection of breakfast items all day, seven days a week. Guests can enjoy hearty breakfasts, delicious lunch specials, and a cozy small-town atmosphere, plus a charming gift shop featuring local specialty foods.
What to order: Chicken & Waffles with Apple Butter or the Eggs Benedict with Tatar Tots
Sweet Mimi’s Cafe and Bakery
📍Location:47 Phila St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 @SweetMimisCafe
Everything on their menu is made from scratch, using the best locally sourced ingredients. The eggs are fresh from Thomas Poultry Farm, buttermilk comes from King’s Dairy, and real maple syrup comes from Mapleland Farm’s taps.

Cantina
📍Location: 408 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 @cantinasaratoga

This is a sharing situation. There are so many great choices on the menu, we opted for a multiple appetizers and then ordered a variety of tacos that we shared. Each taco order comes with three so we each wanted to taste a different one. I went with the It’s better to get three different types than just one. Cantina is committed to serving fresh, delicious Mexican cuisine and festive drinks in a relaxing atmosphere.

What to order: Mexican Street Corn and a variety of tacos
Hattie’s Restaurant
📍Location: 45 Phila Street, Saratoga Springs, NY, @HattiesRestaurants

Hattie’s Restaurant, established in Saratoga Springs in 1938, is a beloved Southern comfort food spot located in the downtown area near Congress Park. It’s where I tasted hush puppies for the first time, perfectly complementing their famous crispy fried chicken and classic dishes like jambalaya and shrimp gumbo. The cozy, honky-tonk atmosphere adds to the warm, memorable dining experience. For authentic, flavourful Southern cooking in Saratoga Springs, Hattie’s is a must-visit.

What to order: the hush puppies and the crispy fried chicken (the picture says it all).
Putnam Market
📍Location: 431 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 @Putnam_Market
With sandwich names like Congress, Gunpowder, and Empire, you know you will get various combinations of fresh chicken, cold cuts, or roast beef. It was hard to make a choice of what to order, but that is the beauty of Putnam Market; there is plenty of variety both at the deli counter and in the shop. Order your sandwich and have a look around to pick up specialty pasta, preserves, oils, and drinks.
What to order: The Congress sandwich was a generously portioned chicken salad sandwich (enough for me to have leftovers for my trip home). Be sure and get Saratoga Chips and Saratoga Springs Water (in that cool blue bottle) to round out the Saratoga foodie experience.
Special Event: Originally introduced to get people back into the downtown core during the winter months, Saratoga Springs’ Chowderfest will celebrate its 27th year in 2026! Taking place Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11 AM to 4 PM in downtown Saratoga Springs. Broadway is closed to traffic to host this one-day sampling tour of chowders from traditional New England to creative contemporary varieties dreamed up by local chefs.
For just $2, visitors can sample 4-ounce chowder portions from over 80 local restaurants and vote for their favorites in multiple categories. The event includes live music, family-friendly activities, and a festive atmosphere throughout downtown.
Best Places to Eat in Saratoga Springs for Dinner
The Wishing Well
📍Location: 745 Saratoga Road, Wilton, NY 12831

Family owned and managed, The Wishing Well is out of the downtown core but worth the short drive. This is casual fine dining. There is nothing pretentious in this restaurant with old photographs of the original farm and cozy corners to enjoy a special meal. Since 1968, the Lee family has continued the tradition of outstanding cuisine and genuine hospitality. The menu is traditional with Maine lobsters, prime steaks, hand-cut veal, and fresh seafood.

What to order: steaks seemed to be the order of the evening, although I opted for the duck. Do not miss the fresh oysters and the delectable desserts.
Morrissey’s Lounge & Bistro inside The Adelphi
📍Location: 365 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

Refined Taste. Rebellious Spirit. That’s the legacy of John Morrissey, prizefighter, kingmaker, and one of Saratoga’s most notorious gentlemen. His namesake lounge captures that same edge: polished, elegant, and just a little untamed. At Morrissey’s Lounge & Bistro, classic cocktails meet modern craftsmanship. The menu is bold yet elevated.
Do not miss out on their signature appetizers like the Clothesline Bacon, and the fresh daily-made sushi, you’ll love every bite. I also loved my Frutti de Mare seafood dish and was a favourite at our table. Whether you’re here for a night of oysters and champagne or a perfectly poured Manhattan, you’ll find yourself at the centre of Saratoga’s most storied tradition: living well and living daringly.

What to order: the clothesline bacon, incredibly fresh sushi and the Frutti de Mare seafood dish!
Olde Bryan Inn
📍Location: 123 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 @theoldebryaninn

There’s a special energy at Olde Bryan Inn: a tradition of celebration that began in 1773 and continues today. This is a busy, noisy restaurant with traditional fare. Housed in a stone house, it is best to make reservations to secure a table. Have a gander at the menu before you go because service is quick to arrive and then they leave you to your meal. The fireplace, large wooden beams, and cozy booths.

I really enjoyed my Kentucky Bourbon Salmon with wild rice and green beans. The season was perfect and the portions very generous. The Olde Bryan Inn is famous for its Oven Roasted Turkey Dinner. If you want to have Thanksgiving dinner anytime of the year, make sure to come for the dinner and stay for the ambiance. I highly recommend you make reservations because this is a very popular restaurant. Parking is available in the Hilton Hotel parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.
What to order: Oven roasted turkey dinner or the prime rib dinner.
Best Places to Eat in Saratoga Springs for Cocktails
Cooperstown Distillery
📍Location: 453 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
We enjoyed a pre-dinner tasting at Cooperstown Distillery. It is the first and only distillery in beautiful Otsego County (Cooperstown is the home to the iconic National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum). Cooperstown Distillery also has a tasting room on Broadway in the downtown core.

As part of Saratoga 250 celebrations (commemorating the Battle of Saratoga—honouring Saratoga’s historical significance in the American Revolution), Cooperstown Distillery created an Anniversary Commemorative Collection. We had some wonderful cocktails showcasing this special collection, including:
- Saratoga Victory Vodka: Created to celebrate the American victory at the Battles of Saratoga.
- Saratoga Revolutionary Rum: Inspired by the rations of American patriots, reflecting both naval history and the colonies’ rebellious spirit.
- Saratoga Fenimore Gin: Named in honour of James Fenimore Cooper and the landscapes that influenced his work.
