I told you a few weeks ago that I had the opportunity to host three of my blogger friends for dinner. So last Friday we got together at my house, chilled some wine, made a meal and had a wonderful time.
Our #winewithchicken evening was hosted by these three great sponsors: Chicken Farmers of Canada, Chateau des Charmes Wines and Emile Henry.
My guests were Paula Schuck(@nksrblr), Cyn Gagen (@CynGagen) and Wanda Lynne Young (@BookaliciousCA) and we started our evening with a very chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc from Chateau des Charmes. The wine was flavourful and light. It complimented the chicken dish very well.
The Brown Rice Pilaf seemed a bit complicated but in fact was very straightforward. You just need to give yourself some time because you need to make the lentils separately. The rice had fresh ginger, garlic, carrots & onions and brown basmati rice with the lentils added at the end. We all agreed that we love the seasoning (cumin, coriander & garam masala) and we would not have normally use these spices. It was neither too overpowering nor too spicy.
As I mentioned before, I am a big fan of Emile Henry and It was so nice to get a baking dish from them. This will be the 46th piece in my collection. In the video you’ll have a better look at part of my collection.
We all had great stories to tell about our cooking adventures, our kids, our blog posts. We laughed an awful lot and enjoyed each others company something we don’t do enough of IRL. We ‘see’ each other on-line every day but to sit down and break bread… well not so often.

Hmmm it appears like your blg ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I
guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any helpful hints for newbie blog writers?
I’d really appreciate it.
